Love this post. Symbolic indeed!

I found that post toddler-hood, I really could learn how to take care of plants. Indoor ones, at least! I haven't had luck with finicky ones like orchids, but I love my hearty house plants.

Welcome to the wonderful, weird, obsessive world of gardening, m'dear! There isn't a day when I don't think about mine (in both hemispheres). My walnut trees in NZ give me shade in the summer when I'm there, and peace when I conjure them to my mind here - such is the power of green things. I love your sanctuary on the deck - beautiful and scrumptious, nurtured and nurturing.
Hugs...
