it is hard to quiet the voices and the fears and the insecurities and listen to the heart. This woman is a part of your son's life and is his step mom - if you are comfortable not meeting her - that is great... will you attend events together etc?

Father's day was always tough for us. This year (daughter now 9) she didn't make a card for her dad because they did Father's Day on Monday as he is spending today with his other kids. She usually makes the cards anyway or makes them for my dad... this year she simply opted out of the project at school. I am not even sure that she is going to remember what today is or that it matters to her.

Your son has a dad that loves him... Follow your heart, quiet the noise , and love.
